| Argentina won 6-0 the second World Cup game, as they destroyed Serbia and Muntenegru, in a game dominated from beggining to end by the south-americans. The goals were scored by Rodríguez 6, 41, Cambiasso 31, Crespo 78, Tevez 84 and Messi 88. |

| Ecuador qualified into the last 16
| For the first time ever, Ecuador advanced to the knockout rounds of the World Cup thanks to their 3-0 victory over Costa Rica in Group A. In the last match, Ecuador will face Germany. Due to the current goal record, Ecuador only need a draw to secure their first place in this group. |

| Brazil 1-0 Croatia
A wonderful goal from Kaká, just before the half time, gave Brazil a 1-0 win over Croatia in their opening World Cup Group F match. The hard working Croatians did not seem intimidated by the reigning champions and went for the attack as well, but didn't succeed to beat Dida. Ronaldo failed to shine and confirmed the lack of form, as well as Adriano had also been quiet. Brazil were not entirely convincing, but they won against a very hard to beat and ambitious team. |

| Pfister's return
| The 68-year-old Otto Pfister returned on Monday as the Togo's coach for the World Cup games. He resigned on Saturday because his players had boycotted training sessions to force Togolese officials to pay the amounts they clamined for having qualified for the World Cyp and the game bonuses. Togo will play their first World Cup match ever against South Korea on Tuesday. |

| Koller did not suffer a serious injury
| The 33-year-old Czech striker Jan Koller did not suffer a serious injury in the 3-0 win over the USA. The scan showed no major damage to his hamstring and the player will be available again in the last 16 stage. The other famous Czech striker, Milan Baros, is also unavailable, with a foot injury. |

| Borgetti is out for a week
| Jared Borgetti could be out of action for the group stage, after he had suffered a hamstring injury in Mexico's 3-1 victory over Iran. "The striker will need 7 to 10 days to recover", said the Mexican team doctor. He will miss the remaining two fixtures against Angola and Portugal. |

| Tournament over for Villar
The World Cup ended for Paraguay's goalkeeper Justo Villar, after a leg injury during the opener against England. Paraguay's team doctor had confirmed that Villar would miss the entire tournament.

| Australia 3 - 1 Japan
| The Group F opener between Australia and Japan ended with a dramatic 3-1 victory for the Socceroos, thanks to a late double by substitute Tim Cahill(84, 89) and a ambitious action by John Aloisi in the 92nd minute. It was a thrilling match won by the briliant inspirantion of Guus Hiddink. Japan claimed for a penalty in the 86th minute, when the score was 1-1. |

| Streller is fit to play
| Swiss striker Marco Streller is ready and fit for the big game against France on Tuesday. The player suffered a minor knee injury in training on Saturday, but the doctors have said that he may be on the pitch in the next game. |

| Rooney may play against T&T
| The 20-year-old Wayne Rooney may return to action in the England's second game at the World Cup against Trinidad & Tobago, after breaking a metatarsal in a Premiership game against Chelsea. Rooney started full training last Thursday and he's fit and in good spirit. |
