Zambrotta could recover in time to face USA on June 17, but doctors also spoted out a ligament damage, so Zambrotta will need to have a scan. Italy is facing other problems too. On Tuesday Roma's midfielder Simone Perrotta was unable to finish the training, after he knocked his left knee.

Spain national team doctor, Dr. Genaro Borras, has said that defender Asier Del Horno may miss the entire World Cup tournament due to a recent ankle injury.

The initial tests and prognosis do not look good, and it is expected he will be left home.
